"I paint each picture in a way that I feel best conveys the impression of the moment. Sometimes it's quick brushstrokes, sometimes thickly applied paint, sometimes small, shimmering specks of color. I painted this view of the cliffs in Étretat for a long time, but only because I had the impression that the atmosphere of the place was frozen and didn't change with the passage of time. I wanted to use these unusual, almost unchanging conditions and capture the atmosphere of a calm sea surface by the cliff."

The painting was created as part of the 'Following in the Footsteps of Claude Monet' project in France.

This painting is available for sale now, but its physical shipment will take place after the exhibition presenting the entire 'Following in the Footsteps of Claude Monet' collection in Poland (October 9-11, 2026), no later than October 31, 2026.

The painting is sold unframed and unvarnished.
