"It was an evening of contrast and very saturated colors. Dark, heavy clouds, almost buckling under their blue mass in the sky, collided with the strong light of the setting sun, which illuminated the old mill in Vernon like a spotlight. The geese around me paid no mind to this spectacle."

The painting was created as part of the 'Following in the Footsteps of Claude Monet' project in France.
